Macy's is selling a 20-piece food container storage set for $22, a price drop from its usual cost.

This kind of set usually comes with plastic containers in different sizes, plus matching lids. People use them to store leftovers, pack lunches, or organize pantry items like rice and pasta. A deal like this comes along when retailers want to clear stock or bring in shoppers, and it's a simple way to get a useful kitchen item for less.

We know that money news can be full of words that feel like a secret code. Our goal is to explain things in plain terms, so you don't need a dictionary to understand a sale, a price, or a deal. You're smart and busy, and you deserve news that respects your time.

What this means for you

If you've been meaning to replace mismatched containers or old ones with cracked lids, this is a chance to do it cheap. A 20-piece set can cover a lot of kitchen needs at once, from small containers for snacks to larger ones for meal prep. At $22, it works out to a low cost per piece, which makes it a solid deal if you need storage anyway.

Here's how to think about whether to buy

1. Check what you already have. If your current containers still work fine, you may not need this.
2. Look at the size mix. A 20-piece set often includes several sizes, so make sure it fits your actual storage needs, like lunch-size or leftover-size containers.
3. Confirm it's dishwasher and microwave safe, since many plastic containers are, but it's worth checking before you buy.
4. Compare it to other deals. Sometimes a smaller set at a lower total price works out cheaper per piece.
5. Buy soon if you want it, since sale prices on items like this don't always last long.

Deals like this show up often around the year, especially during big shopping seasons or when stores want to move inventory. If you keep an eye on your usual retailers, you can often find similar drops on everyday items you already use. It helps to have a short list of things you need, so when a sale hits, you know right away if it's worth it.

As your next step, check the current price and stock on Macy's site to see if this storage set is still available before it sells out or the price changes back.
